Mr. Lee received an undergraduate degree in Microbiology from Auburn Montgomery and earned his Masters of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Southern Seminary. Mr. Lee and his wife, Rebekah, are the parents of three sons: Jonny, Jack, and Graham. The Lees attend Morningview Baptist Church.
Amy Gonzalez has a BS Degree from Pensacola Christian College. Amy has
taught kindergarten at Cornerstone for three years. Amy is married to Santiago Gonzalez and the couple’s three children Alexa (8th), Molly (5th), and Caleb (3rd) are all Cornerstone students. The family attends Calvary Baptist Church where they are actively involved in children’s ministry. The Gonzalez family has lived in Montgomery for ten years.
Jordan Rae Gaines has been teaching first grade at Cornerstone for six
years. She received a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in English with an Education minor from Auburn Montgomery and a Master of Letters in Liberal Arts focusing on Classical Christian education. During her undergraduate work, Mrs. Gaines taught English as a Second Language to elementary, college, and continuing education students in northern China and Montgomery. She and her husband, Austin Gaines, attend 2Cities Church in downtown Montgomery. They welcomed their first child to their family, Emma Louise Gaines, in January 2016.
Jennifer Graham graduated from Auburn University in Montgomery in 1993 with a BS degree. She has been teaching 2nd grade at Cornerstone for five years. Jennifer is wife to Greg, a Lay Pastor at Morningview Baptist Church who served on the founding committee for Cornerstone. Jennifer is mother to Andrew (2015 graduate of CCCA), Anna Grace (10th grade) and Elijah (4th grade). She has a passion and love for children and is in her 17th year serving as Preschool Director for Morningview. She loves to spend time with family and friends, read, travel and host fellowships in their home.
Michele Hough holds an elementary education degree from the University
of Mobile. Michele has served in various ways in the ministry of Cornerstone over the past ten years. She has been a board member and a dedicated parent volunteer as well as a second grade teacher. Michele’s love for the Lord and her students is contagious! Michele and her husband Judd are members of Morningview Baptist Church. They chair the missions committee at the church. The Hough’s three daughters are all students at Cornerstone.
Christy Taunton has taught for over 15 years and has served at Cornerstone for the past seven. Christy enjoys teaching with classical methodology and her creative flair has been a blessing to all of the teachers on our staff. The Taunton family attends Trinity Presbyterian Church where the family participates in the music and youth ministries. The Tauntons have three children Matthew (2016 CCCA graduate currently attending Auburn University at Montgomery), Hannah (11th) and Elizabeth (8th).
Melissa Price, a Montgomery native, graduated with honors (Magna Cum Laude) from Auburn Montgomery with her BS degree in 2004. One of her greatest passions in life is teaching young people that they can do all things through Christ who strengthens them. She has taught the 5th grade at Cornerstone for three years and leads the school’s Chess Club. Melissa is married to Ennis Price, and together they have two children who attend Cornerstone. The Price family worships at Landmark Church of Christ.
Mona Robinson attended Pensacola Christian College where she earned at BS in elementary education. Mona has taught for over twenty-five years; the last eleven in the sixth grade at Cornerstone. As a veteran teacher Mona’s understanding of classical methodology and her passion for helping students acquire a Biblical worldview has served as the capstone for our elementary school. Mona and her husband Steve attend Heritage Baptist Church where they both participate in the music ministry. The Robinsons have two grown children and two grandchildren.
Addie DePace has taught over the years in several different venues. She has been and is actively involved in homeschooling her children who range in age from 23 to 15. Addie’s experience in teaching at Tall Oaks Classical School in Delaware gave her a love for and expertise in teaching Latin. She believes that Latin is a great source of enrichment for the classically educated student. Addie is married to Reed DePace who serves as senior pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Montgomery.
Kristen Alston worked for two years doing research for an organic chemistry professor at the University of South Alabama before earning her BS in Chemical Engineering. Since she has earned her professional engineer license in the state of Alabama. Kristen instructs upper grade students in sciences. She is married to Dr. Johnnie Alston, and they have four Cornerstone students, Owen, Brodie, Ansley, and Abigail. The family attends First Presbyterian Church in Montgomery.
Kelhi DePace recently graduated from Auburn University at Montgomery with dual degrees in English and History. While attending AUM, she participated in the University Honors Program, worked at the Alabama Department of Archives and History, and served as an editor for the AUM Historical Review. Miss DePace’s education has been entirely classical through homeschooling and attending Tall Oaks Classical School in Delaware. Miss DePace attends First Presbyterian Church in Montgomery. In her teaching, Miss DePace desires that students will learn to praise God for their classical and Christian education.
Lee Gonet is a founding member of the Cornerstone Faculty. With great expertise and passion, Mrs. Gonet has taught Latin at the upper level for the past eleven years. In addition, she has crafted the upper level Omnibus program where our students receive credits in Bible, history and English. Mrs. Gonet has sponsored the school’s Latin club and enabled our students to participate in several competitive events including National History Day. Lee and her husband Phil have two grown children and two grandchildren. The Gonets travel extensively and enjoy leading student groups. The Gonets reside in Tallassee.
Michael Kessler is a member of Morningview Baptist Church and enjoying his second year of teaching at Cornerstone. Mr. Kessler teaches in our science and math departments in our upper school. In addition he is extremely qualified to teach theology. Mr. Kessler graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in electrical engineering and received his Masters of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary with a concentration in Christian missions. He is presently enrolled in the PhD program at the Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Mike is married to Mandy and they have two daughters, who both attend CCCA.
Cornerstone Classical Christian Academy was born out of the vision of Morningview Baptist Church. Morningview is a Southern Baptist church located in historic Montgomery, Alabama.
